Nathan B. MacDonald, BA, CMILT, FSA Scot is the founder and Commissioner of Clan  Donald  Southern Ontario and the current Deputy High Commissioner of Clan Donald  Canada. Born and raised on Cape Breton Island, Nathan has lived in Southern  Ontario since pursuing his studies at the University of Guelph in the mid-1990s.  Nathan has published articles on the history of his clan and on the Highland Scots in  Canada and around the world in various Clan Donald publications. Nathan is a Celtic  musician and songwriter who has toured Canada performing original and traditional  repertoire as a solo artist and with his bands Celtae and Kitchen Racket. 

 Mr. MacDonald is a member of the St. Andrew's Society of Toronto, Comunn Gaidhlig  Thoronto and was inducted as a fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland (FSA  Scot) in 2014 for his commitment and contributions to the history and living culture  of the Highland Scottish Gael. 

 In his professional life, Nathan is a communications and public policy professional  with particular expertise in transportation and environmental policy. 

About Cambridge Scottish Festival

Highland Games have been taking place for hundreds of years. Originally, these events were organized to keep men in good physical condition so that they were prepared in times of war. Throughout the years, the Highland Games became a great way to spend time with family, enjoy the pipes and drums as well was compete in competitions. Today, we keep that part of Scottish heritage alive and well.
